http://www.west-dunbarton.gov.uk/library/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=8972&printer=yesThe second Friday picture of the week features New Kibowie Park, the former home of Clydebank FC. The ground was notable as one of the first all seater stadiums in Britain. It was sold off by the club in 1996 and 6 years of groundsharing was to follow. The club plunged into huge financial trouble and fans deserted them in protest. They were finally bought by Jim Ballantyne in 2002 and re-named as Airdrie United.

I did manage to see a game at Kilbowie Park (5 August 1989) with Clydebank playing Rangers in a pre-season match (2-4). I recall that Singer railway station was only a few hundered yards away from the ground.
That would have been a good trip pieman. The reformed 'bankies' are doing very well in the junior leagues by all accounts. Hope to get along at some point next season.
